Brown Butter Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies may be a mouthful but it’s also a major party in your mouth.

The rich chocolatey goodness balances out the briny bite from the sea salt while the brown butter brings a caramel-y, nutty note to the party. All that’s missing is my personal favorite ingredient — weed!

With this recipe in your repertoire, your friends and family will be left begging for more. Share with caution.

Ingredients: (Makes about 24 cookies)

  • 1/2 cup butter, mixture of unsalted and softened cannabutter (ratio depends on desired dosage)

  • 1 1/4 cup flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt + more for sprinkling

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks

Instructions: (For a video click here.)

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and place the softened cannabutter in a small bowl.

  2. Next you need to brown the unsalted butter. Take a saucepan or deep skillet and place over medium heat with the unsalted butter. Continue to stir for the next 10-ish minutes until the butter begins to brown and smell nutty. Do not stop stirring to prevent the butter from burning and be careful that the butter does not get charred! We want the butter browned, not burnt.

  3. Once the butter is browned, pour over your softened cannabutter and allow to cool for at least 20 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile, thoroughly mix the dry ingredients, aka flour, baking soda, and sea salt, in a medium bowl. Set bowl aside.

  5. Once the butter is cooled, mix with both sugars until smooth. Add in the vanilla, then the egg, mixing well as you go.

  6. Stir dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.

  7. Lastly fold in your chocolate chunks until evenly distributed.

  8. Scoop the batter out in 1 tablespoon balls and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle each cookie with a pinch of sea salt.

  9. Bake for 8-ish minutes or until you cracking on the surface of the cookies or a light browning on the corners. Let cool for a moment before enjoying!
